Repipe

If you have an existing galvanized domestic water system (hot & cold) or the age of your home is more than 25 years. Then odds are, your home's water system is rusting. Over the operating life of a galvanized system, pipes will become plugged with rust, and so blocked with rust, a 1" pipe can look like 1/8", or not be able to see through the pipe. A water system in your home operates on pressure vs. volume. Pressure is measured by P.S.I. (pounds per square inch) which is generally what the water department has delivered to your home. Volume is measured by G.P.M. (gallons per minute) and is how much water flows, in this case, through your home's pipes. When pipes become plugged, volume gets reduced. One common symptom "is that when one fixture is running, then we can't run anything else" (A good example is if someone is in shower, you can't turn on anything else). If you see signs of rust on the exterior of the pipes, erosion or corrosion, you have the potential for leaks, burst or broken pipes, which can cost thousands of dollars in water damage, or damage to irreplaceable items and keepsakes.
